Home Insulation Services - Whole House Fan in Rehoboth Beach, DE
Whole house fans were popular before homes had air conditioning. They were mounted in the ceiling of the top floor and would pull out a high volume of warm air from the house. This air would then be replaced by fresh air coming in through open windows. There was of course no way to control the temperature of the air coming in, or the humidity, or even the amount of dust that was let in. These fans are rarely, if ever, used today.
