This photo captures the vented crawl space before the encapsulation process has begun.
In the winter, vents let cold air directly into the home. Floor insulation sag away from the sub floor and the cold air gets above it causing the insulation to be useless. In the summer, the vents let warm air into the crawl space causing high humidity.
