These homeowners wrote in to us, "We are losing the battle with heating our home...", "We are pretty sure we probably need some new insulation but are not sure how to proceed." 

We called the homeowners right away and scheduled a no-cost, no-obligation inspection. Upon the inspection our Certified Home Comfort Specialist, Michael Alicknavitch, found that the home lacked adequate insulation and to make matters worse no air sealing had been done to the attic. This was allowing a lot of conditioned air to escape from the home.

We found that the best solution for their problem was to air seal the attic and insulate it with blown-in cellulose insulation. Before beginning any upgrades to the home the Dr. Energy Saver Delmarva production team first removed all of the old, damaged and fairly useless insulation. After complete removal was accomplished they air sealed the entire attic making sure to get every crack and crevice in sight. After the air sealing was completed the crew filled the attic to R-60 with blown-in cellulose insulation. The air sealing paired with the tripled R-Value will significantly improve this home's efficiency.
