Salisbury, MD - Dr. Energy Saver® Delaware leads the way for home energy audits through the Healthy Homes Program-the recent initiative introduced by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. David Lawson, owner of Dr. Energy Saver Delaware, joined all of his auditors in attending Healthy Home's exclusive auditing class on June 7, 2011 called, "Health Opportunities During Energy Audits and Upgrades Training." This class taught all who attended how to maximize their home energy audits by shinning a light on potential health hazards that may exist in homes.

"I think we had the largest attendance. When I talked with the Director he said they didn't have a huge attendance. It's mainly because most auditors are too focused on energy savings." Lawson continued, "This is a national program, but I'm working with the Director for Delaware Healthy Homes to create a program to allow us to perform audits under the Healthy Homes. They do the same type of inspection except they currently do not do a blower door. It's similar to the energy rebate program but instead of cutting down on electric they want to focus on health."
