CleanSpace Encapsulation Matting Stops Moisture In Its Tracks
Flooding is a serious problem that can damage a home beyond repair, but how does a homeowner fix something if they don't even know an issue exists? When Salisbury, MD homeowners Robert and Lori B. noticed one day that their crawl space had excess moisture and signs of mold growth, they decided that only a professional could salvage their crawl space. The couple started their search online, and soon came across Dr. Energy Saver Delmarva who they called that same day.
Soon after contacting Delmarva, the couple was met by crawl space remediation specialist David Lawson. After introducing himself, David immediately began examining the crawl space. After a careful inspection, David found moisture was seeping through the ground and into the crawl space, becoming an effective breeding ground for mold. After explaining the situation to the couple, David reassured them that he had a solution for their troubles. David explained to the couple that their problem stemmed from moisture penetrating the crawl space. Since moisture seeping through the dirt is inevitable, David recommended the installation of a CleanSpace encapsulation system. This specialized matting is installed along the walls and floor of a crawl space and works similarly to a pool liner, except instead of trapping the moisture inside the system prevents outside moisture from penetrating into the crawl space. For added precaution, David recommended to the couple the installation of a SmartSump sump pump. The SmartSump is designed to be paired with the Cleanspace encapsulation system ensuring an air tight seal. The SmartSump is also designed with a unique lid that has a built in alarm system. When the lid fills with water an alarm goes off and alerts the homeowner of potential water trouble.
After explaining the products and processes to the couple thoroughly, David Lawson called in Delmarva’s Production Team One to complete the remediation process. The couple’s crawl space is now better than ever and will no longer prove to be a nuisance in the oncoming years!
Homeowners Replace Faulty Crawl Space Door with New Everlast Crawl Space Door
A crawl space can be a detrimental aspect to one’s livelihood and one’s wallet if not properly taken care of. When Salisbury, MD homeowners Charles and Brooke A. noticed a musty smell throughout their house, they became worrisome of the long term consequences that this musty smell could have on their health. They began searching for remediation experts online and not long after came across Dr. Energy Saver Delmarva, whom they contacted to come inspect their home.
Shortly after contacting Delmarva, Charles and Brooke were met by remediation expert Michael Brittingham at their Salisbury, MD home. Charles and Brooke explained to Michael what they were experiencing and Michael began inspecting all possible areas of the home. His search eventually led him to the couple’s crawl space where he discovered mold growth due to constant moisture within in the confines of the crawl space. Luckily for the couple, Michael had the ideal solution for the problem. Michael noticed that the couple’s access door to the crawl space showed signs of wear and tear and recommended the installation of an Everlast Crawl Space Door. Unlike traditional doors that are made of wood and tend to warp, crack, shrink, or rot over time, Everlast is made of ½ inch plastic and is air tight, ensuring no water will get through to the crawl space. Everlast also will not warp, shrink, rot, or crack like a traditional wooden door would, allowing for long lasting security. In the actual crawl space, Michael suggested that the couple have a Cleanspace encapsulation system installed. This system is matting that is installed along the walls and floor of the crawl space and prevents outside moisture from penetrating and making its way into the crawl space. Michael also reported to the couple that the insulation in their crawl space was nonexistent and needed immediate replacement. Michael recommended the Closed Cell Spray Foam insulation. This is an all-in-one insulation and is perfect for any area of a home. Once the products were set upon, Michael called in Delmarva’s Production Team One to complete the remediation process.
With the waterproofing and insulation products installed, Charles and Brooke’s crawl space will be drier and more secure than ever. Along with that, their home will be warmer, their bills will go down, and it’s all thanks to the professionals at Dr. Energy Saver Delmarva!
Treating a Moldy Crawlspace in Mardela Springs, Maryland
Concerned about the humidity level of her crawlspace, a Mardela Springs homeowner reached out for help. She was worried that the humidity level was affecting the comfort of her home and she wanted to make the space cleaner. The high humidity level led to the presence of mold and caused the old insulation to fall down in the crawlspace.
To make the crawlspace healthier, Lawson Home Services removed the damaged insulation and sprayed Mold-X Neutralizer. Removing the moldy fiberglass insulation ensures that the space is ready to be fixed properly when the homeowner is ready. The Mold-X Neutralizer treatment kills the mold, making it unable to produce spores.
With these two processes complete, the homeowner’s crawlspace was healthier and ready for a permanent repair to keep the humidity low and the space clean. Through the process, the homeowner was informed of the next steps to keep her home comfortable and she now understands the importance of a healthy crawlspace!
Delmar Maryland Radon Mitigation
Jeff H. called in after performing a home radon test and finding that he had elevated levels of radon in his home. Jeff contacted Lawson Home Services because he was looking for a radon specialist and wanted a radon mitigation system installed. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, and the number one leading cause in non-smokers. There are no safe levels of radon, but there are methods to reduce the levels within the home. The most common method of reducing radon in a home is installing a radon mitigation system.
After a radon mitigation system is installed, a follow-up test is performed to verify that the radon system is properly reducing the radon levels. Environmental pressures can affect the performance of radon mitigation systems over time, continuous or routine radon testing should be scheduled.
Duct Cleaning in Salisbury, MD
Lawson Home Services was recently in the area near Salisbury, MD catching up on all the recent calls we've had for duct cleaning. Apparently the word got out, that Lawson Home Services does the best job.
Delmarva Peninsula residents know what allergies are. For what ever reasons they are particularly bad here. So homeowners here know how important it is to keep their homes free of dust and allergens.
You can clean and dust your home all you want, but if dust and dirt are allowed to build up in air conditioning and furnace duct work it will do no good. As soon as the furnace or air conditioner kicks on, the duct and allergens will be blown all throughout your home. The furniture and floors will quickly get dirty and dusty again and you'll be sneezing and sniffling.
So why not call Lawson Home Services today and ask to schedule our Platinum duct cleaning service. It's not expensive and you'll breathe a lot better knowing you aren't breathing all the muck thats been hanging out in your HVAC ducts.
Dryer Duct Cleaning in Salisburry, MD
Lawson Home Services gets a lot of calls for dryer clean out from wise homeowners, like this lady in Salisbury, MD. A dryer vent clean out might not seem too important until you stop to consider that clothes dryers use more energy to do their job than any other household appliance. So it makes good sense to have your dryer working as efficiently as possible, not to mention that your clothes dry much faster.
You can own the best dryer money can buy, but if the duct work is clogged up that dryer cannot do its job. It's not uncommon for our technician, Donnie Lonski, to find duct work that is virtually clogged shut. When there is no air flowing the clothes will never get completely dry. Your dryer will overheat, shortening its life. And, worst of all, it becomes a fire hazard.
A dryer clean out service typically takes less than 2 hours, and it's affordable. It will save you headaches, and it will save on your utility expenses.
