All new homes built in the State of Delaware are now required by code to be tested for air-tightness to ensure the home leaks no more than 3 air changes per hour when the home is depressurized to 50 pascals. We realize, of course, these numbers mean nothing to a person untrained in building science, but this measurement is directly related to how well the home retains conditioned air. Conditioned air is that which has been heated or cooled, filtered, and dehumidified.
